     Summer’s respite is now evolving into August whose primary promise is re*turning to school.  Since August lends itself to this timeless, but yet annual rite of passage, do you remember the excitment  that bubbled up from within?  “School Daze, School Daze, Good Ole Golden Rule Daze” brings forth the smell of a newly sharpened pencil which for me,  translates to such magic.  A new notebook filled with binders of red, blue, purple, green and yellow; unlined and lined paper bound together complete with subject dividers.  A ruler, scissor, pens, highlighters...oh the happiness!  I am hard-wired for August to eternally be a new time.  Juust think of Facebook as the new Yearbook!  Even if you are not attending a formal school per se, you must consider everyone-even you, being enrolled in the School of Life. And yet, the process of evolving knowledge into wisdom is a life lesson which empowers one to realize deeper fulfillment.

     The Rules:  Please email your magical, mystical, marvelous, magnificent memories of when you first left home, your experience of moving forward into the world.   To better tap back into that precious person, write your story in present tense.  Word count is up to you. 

     Bring up your precious self and see him or her ONLY through unconditional love’s eyes-no judgment because that is merely  an illusion.  Include the following: What were your aspirations?   Where were you going?  When did this momentous event occur?  Why were you going? How were you going?  Consider the people in your life at that time.  Do you recall what were you wearing the day you told mom and dad good-bye?  Allow your sense of smell to bring up the aromas wafting through the air-did your mom bake cookies to take with?  What was the time of year when you left, what was the weather like? Consider the symbols relevant to this pivotal time such as your university’s moniker or like me, a peace sign.  What sounds do you remember-birds chirping or profound church bells tolling?  What music or specific song were you listening to?  Think about how your favorite song was somewhat of a Pied Piper reflecting what you were experiencing in real time? What conversation or nuggets of wisdom would you share with your former self?   

     Remember to lovingly embrace this aspect of you, rejoice in its timeline and lovingly download its insights.  Life’s ever present lesson/knowing/wisdom is to be forever grateful, flexible and loving as change/transformation is always an absolute.
