Feng Shui Your Way to Inspiration

Greeting
My last post encouraged you to find a special place to create from.  There are many variables in this equation.  For me, the joy of utilizing one of our home’s bedrooms as a dedicated office space is over perfect.  For you, the kitchen table might be the perfect or at least a temporary creative place. For purposes of this teaching, we will call your space the Blessing Place.  Think of it in terms to receiving great and profound inspiration.  The following are a few tips to consider…where ever your Blessing Place may be:
1.  Keep your area free of clutter but know that your piles of genius are certainly not considered clutter.  Oh contraire' your journals, manuscripts, drafts, sketches, business plans, vision boards and of course, dream-list are an important and essential part of your creative process.  Tomorrow we will talk about your dreams & how to create them into coming true.
2.  Have an Idea-Catcher…in my first workshop (November of 1997), I suggested to create folders, envelopes or even files to collect your brilliance.  This information still holds up.  3.  What artwork inspires you?  For me, it is my family, fantabulous trips we have taken, photos of nature, beautiful statuaries representing peace and love.  A centered soul can speak and write volumes.   What items,  photos or figurines, can you add to your Blessing Place that inspires you to live your purpose through your creativity?  Hint~When I was writing my first book, The Home Whisperer, I kept the chapter title and artwork in front of me.  This helped me stay on topic.
4.  Make a list of what you have accomplished towards your project, vision, screenplay, symphony-on May 14, 1989, I wrote a business plan for a movie theatre business.  I had experience in this field---okay, so it was as a teenager and yes, it was a summer job but coupled with my husband and my vision to open our town's very first movie theatre, it was our passion.  I listed the research we must do, all of the overwhelming things we would need and I honored the acceptable rules of business planning and her preparations.  On an every day basis, I referred back to my list of what we had accomplished and this keep us going.  On December 16, 1989, we opened our doors and over the next 12 years, we built this enterprise into a multi-million dollar business.  Whatever it is that you are creating, KNOW that DREAMS DO COME TRUE!
5.  Musica---yes, play lyrics-free music.  This energy will lift you beyond yourself.  6.  Have a fountain nearby---the only exception is if you are creating from your bedroom---a fountain is too yang for this restful place. The sound of water is soothing.
7. Living plants---even if you think you kill everything you touch, you can certainly grow a bamboo plant.  They are easy and they represent great good fortune.  Ah Most Auspicious!
8.  Affirmation:  I am Creative, I am Abundant…you don’t have to be Stuart Smalley~okay so this reference dates me, but Al Frankin did a great job on that character and re*member laughter boosts your endorphins.
9.  Breathe, breathe and breathe.  Do the exercise on yesterday’s anchoring of your Blessing Place…it gets the circulation going and creates calm.
10.  Smile...yes, even if you are alone as this releases your happiness hormones!

As Always…blessings, blessings, blessings~
Be Inspired,
